Cada especie tiene su propia estrategia de colaboración, después de todo, la colaboración, y no la competencia, es lo que hace más probable el éxito en la preservación de la vida (como experiencia biológica pero también política).
Las aves migratorias, por ejemplo, al igual que cierto tipo de bacterias (las MTB) también migrantes, colaboran moviéndose juntas. Generando sistemas complejos, en los cuales se trazan rutas y movimientos como si la suma de los individuos fueran un solo cuerpo, es por eso que cuando vemos pájaros migrando parecen bailando. Cada grupo migrante funciona como un cuerpo que parte, llega y retorna junto.
El Síndrome de Ulises o síndrome del emigrante con estrés crónico y múltiple es un cuadro de duelo migratorio extremo que aparece en los inmigrantes que viven situaciones muy adversas (soledad, exclusión, miedo e indefensión).
Es un cuadro reactivo de estrés ante situaciones de duelo migratorio extremo que no pueden ser elaboradas. Generalmente es atravesado por personas proveniente de ex colonias que llegan al primer mundo, donde las políticas públicas están hechas para desaparecernos.
Los estresores a los que se enfrentan los inmigrantes en nuestros días y el estrés provocado por el proceso migratorio son tan elevados que exceden la capacidad adaptativa de las personas, lo que tiene una influencia directa en su salud, tanto física, como mental.
