Fire to resistance
En Copenhagen reposan como parte de la colección de la biblioteca real, las crónicas de Felipe Guamán Poma de Ayala; carta que intentaba llegar a Felipe III en un intento por narrar las atrocidades coloniales de la corona española en tierra Abyayalina. Un primer relato anti colonial del proyecto político que llamamos América. El colonialismo trunca comunicaciones entre subalternidades, trunca gritos, pedidos de auxilio y narrativas no hegemónicas de nuestra memoria.
La Amazonía es deforestada rápidamente para el monocultivo, la cría de ganado y el desvío de recursos hídricos como parte del proyecto extractivo del norte global en el sur y del proyecto colonial que se actualiza en los programas de gobierno de los estados nacionales criollos en Abya yala. En el 2019 la Amazonía inició incendios que no fueron parados por los gobiernos de ultra derecha de Colombia y de Brasil. La arrogancia del hombre blanco ignora la interdependencia de la vida, e ignora que quemando un bosque él mismo se queda sin agua. Sin selva no hay nubes, sin nubes no hay páramo, sin páramo no hay agua.
Octubre, según el calendario ilustrado de Guaman Poma, es el mes de pedir la lluvia.

Caminé por el centro de Copenhaguen llevando una carretilla llena de madera en llamas y regulé el tamaño del fuego con tierra húmeda hasta que llegué a la galería. En la galería me senté junto al fuego a bordar en mi falda YOU CAN’T STOP THE CLIMATE CHAOS WITHOUT DECOLONIAL JUSTICE e invité a las personas asistentes a bordar conmigo. Quienes se sentaban a bordar escuchaban un audio en el se nombraban recursos naturales extraídos de Abya yala para el consumo en el norte global junto a nombres de líderes y lideresas medioambientales del mismo territorio asesinados en los últimos 10 años.

I walked through the center of Copenhagen carrying a wheelbarrow full of burning wood and regulated the size of the fire with damp earth until I reached the gallery. In the gallery I sat by the fire to embroider on my skirt YOU CAN'T STOP THE CLIMATE CHAOS WITHOUT DECOLONIAL JUSTICE and invited the people attending to embroider with me. Those who sat embroidering listened to an audio in which were named natural resources extracted from Abya yala for consumption in the global north along with names of environmental leaders from the same territory murdered in the last 10 years.
